The longest day of my life,
Was stretched across grey clouds.
With tears flowing like faucets,
And cheeks burned fire red.
God made a bargain with the Devil, with Death.
He gave the dark my faith,
So that I could keep the beating in my chest.
A dead God saved me from myself.
I know what you did,
And I know things will never be the same.
But maybe one of these days,
I'll remember what fire feels like.
